I'm not afraid to fall; it means I've climbed up high.
Guess what sucks?
You know what? I hate school. I really do. I mean, you all should know that by now. A lot of people think that since ND is a catholic school, it's a lot better than all the public schools. Well, that means nothing. Catholic schools have just as many problems as public schools do. There are some major disadvantages to going to our school.
First of all, its size. It's a small school, so everybody knows everybody. Everybody's in everybody's business. At first, you would think that's a good thing. But it really, isn't. Example? All your friends turn into poseurs. You don't want to. But what other choice do you have? Everyone already has their own clique and making friends is hard. There's no one else. So you have to stay with that group, doing what you wouldn't like to do. There is no bigger group out there-whoever you're with, you're stuck with.
Also, classes. There's really not a lot of electives. In some schools you can take sign language as a language course. There are schools for preforming arts. Here you get your basic subjects, plus a bullshit religion course. Your choices are science for junior and senior year, and art and music. That's about it. So in other words, there's not much choice at all.
And everyone has to had those special talents. Special talents include, and are pretty much limited to: Being an awesome artist
Being in a band
Being really, really, ridiclously good at soccer, football, or lacross.
And what about those "lucky" people who aren't any of that? Those who are awesome writers, those who are great in music but don't have a band, those who shine in an "uncool" sport? And what about others, like those who have amazing computer skills or are insanely creative, like people who make their own clothes? When do their talents get honored and appreciated?
They don't. That's when. And even if someone likes a poem you wrote or you win a race, all the glitter fads as soon as it came. Their appreciation goes back to the other talents-the "good" ones.
You're all just big fish in a little pond. I can't wait until it all flips on you-when you leave ND and aren't the star of the show anymore.
I don't care what you think of this. And I probably never will.
