So yeah, if you couldn't tell by last night's paniced "I-hate-chem" entry, I was basically going out of my mind. I was going nuts because I had a meet, plus a chem test *shudder* and two quizzes in other classes. Math I had completely forgotten about until that morning, so when I realized that we had a quiz I was just sort of like "Oh shoot" but I don't think I bombed it, so that's good. ^_^
The day just seemed to be getting better and better after that. We started watching Remember the Titans in Morality and I even got to finish constructing my cube in Art & Tech. One project down...two to go. Think I can make it before the end of the semester?
But here is one of the best things about today: I PASSED MY CHEMISTRY TEST!! *happy dance* The main reason I did so bad on the last one was because I thought it was the day after the day it actually was and I had forgotten my notebook at home, so I couldn't even study in homeroom.
Then we all head off to Cornell for our track meet. The bus trip up there was probably the biggest downside of my day--there weren't enough seats on the bus and Tom made Perry sit with me. Ugh. He's in denial, I swear. He mostly ignored me, and I mostly ignored him; he wanted to read and I'd much rather listen to my music. But around the last 20-30 minutes he kept trying to fall asleep on my shoulder. The ensuing conversation went something like this:
Me: I'm not a pillow.
Perry: Who says?
Me: Says me.
See, that's one of the most annoying problems with guys! As soon as you're unavliable, they suddenly want you. Guys are so dumb sometimes, I mean, really. Perry--We are no longer dating. Stop asking me to the Snowball. Stop trying to hold my hand. Stop trying to cuddle. Your new rule is: Look but don't touch.
I think they just like the chase.
But I can run faster than they can.
And I have the times to proove it, too.
At the meet, I was just supposed to run the 800m relay, unseeded, but Kelsey got hurt doing the triple jump and couldn't run. So Mr. Shelling decided to put me in the sprint medly for her! Me and the other girls on my relay team for that (Gina, Emilie and...hm, can't seem to remember the last one) were getting so nervous, I figured we were all either going to have heart attacks or run really, really fast.
Well, anyways, whats-her-name (I feel so bad that I can't remember) passes me the baton and that was it. I was like Forrest Gump on steroids. (well, maybe not fast) I was running faster than I ever have before. I mean, I was vicious! I was passing people and everything! It felt awesome! I ran a 200 in 34-point-something seconds. *victory scream*
Then, since Kelsey was still hurt, Kaila ran for her in the 800m. The only problem was that we hadn't practiced hand-offs and she was handing off to me. Anyways, Meghan ran the first lap but as she went to pass the baton to Gina she fell and the baton rolled. Poor Gina wasn't sure what to do, but grabbed the baton and ran. If it had been a seeded race (meaning it counts for points) we probably would have been disqualified for the baton falling, which is something we were all worried about. (But we didn't so that's a good thing ^_^) Then it's Kaila's turn to pass to me (She did really good, btw ^^). I accidentally grabbed her hand when she was trying to pass me the baton but we eventually got it ^_^
And here's the best part of it....we came in second place!!
I'm going to be happy for the rest of the weekend! Yay!
So Friday 13th turned out to be awesome.
