Oh man. Page 62 and I'm calling it all ready.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak is high on my list of must-reads. Also included on that list are His Dark Materials, The Count of Monte Cristo and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn.
Reading, for me, is nothing like a laborious English assignment. Right now I'm sitting at the computer desk, staring at my open text book at Paradise Lost and fervently wishing that the people in my class didn't have the IQ of banana peels. They've made me lose Beowulf, almost lose the Canterbury Tales and completely destroyed MacBeth for me. I never thought I'd say this, but I miss Mr. Pucci's class!
I've been wanting to not only read Pardise Lost, but to read the whole thing, all million and a half lines, someday. I tried reading a bit over the summer, but then I realized we would probably be reading it in English class, or at least a fraction of it. We have to read 180 lines for homework, and people are already complaining.
Ruin Paradise Lost for me, and I will defenestrate you.
(Defenestrate is also on my list of favorite words! It's right up there with "schadenfreude".)
Excuse me now, but I must continue with The Temptation of Eve.
